A few of our younger girls teams made the trip down to San Jose on Tuesday for the Special Olympics Unified Sports All-Star Soccer Match at Avaya Stadium presented by MLS and ESPN. The Special Olympics program does a ton of great work promoting social inclusion through the use of sports. Their Unifed Sports program connects athletes with and without disabilities on the same teams to work together, promoting friendship and understanding. Our Eclipse families and players went out to support the event and had a lot of fun in the process. They even made friends with former MLS MVP and current ESPN broadcaster Taylor Twellman by sharing a hot dog with him.
