The Eclipse Leadership Academy recently finished its fifth year with nearly 20 players successfully completing it. The program is run over four sessions during the summer at the Eclipse office. Eclipse Director Shane Carney teaches the course that uses a variety of activities and discussions to help participants understand leadership styles and to begin to define their own style. Topics tied to leadership, such as communication, observation and teamwork are also discussed. Kids successfully completing the Leadership Academy will now be able to transition into the Advanced Leadership Program, which was started this summer. While the Leadership Academy focuses on developing a personal leadership style, the Advanced Leadership Program gives the kids a chance to use their leadership within the club and community.
