Eclipse Director Named NCS Honor Coach of the Year

IMG_0255Eclipse Director Shane Carney was recently named the 2016 North Coast Section Honor Coach of the Year for his work as the head coach of the Campolindo Boys Soccer program. The award is handed out by NCS to a coach who meets the following criteria:
1) Maintenance of professional standards of conduct
2) General service to respective sport
3) Outstanding coaching accomplishments
4) Additional contributions to school and community

Shane has compiled an overall record of 119-36-28 in seven years as the head coach at Campolindo, including a 16-6 record in North Coast Section playoff games. His teams have won seven total titles, including three Winter Soccer Classic titles, three Diablo Foothill Athletic League titles, and one North Coast Section title. His teams have also finished in second place in the WSC once, DFAL three times, and NCS twice. In addition to the success on the field, Shane was acknowledged for his community efforts, including raising money for the nonprofit Feeding America by running up Mt. Diablo with his players, collecting shoes for the nonprofit Soles4Souls by coaching barefoot in the winter weather, and taking some of his players on a service trip to a Mexican orphanage.
