Coaches and Ref of the Month – September 2014

photo (13)Head Coach of the Month: Amelia Salazar
Coach Amelia has become an integral part of the coaching staff in her first year with Eclipse. As the head coach of the U13 Solar Girls team, she has found a perfect blend of making practices fun and enjoyable, while still pushing the girls in their development. Throughout the U13 Solar Girls team, there has been notable individual development, and the team continues to play better and better together each game. Amelia has stuck to the Eclipse coaching philosophy consistently throughout the season and has become a very strong positive role model for her players as a result.

Assistant Coach of the Month:
Ariel Ramirez
Coach Ariel finishes up her third year of being an assistant coach for Eclipse this month, as she heads off to start her college journey at UC Davis. Ariel started as an Eclipse player in year 1 and played for Eclipse for the first three years. Her passion for the game led her to join on as an assistant coach in year 2. While she has helped a variety of teams across the club, her biggest impact has been on the Future Eclipse program where she has supported and inspired our youngest soccer players.

Referee of the Month: Leticia Ramos
Leticia finishes the month of September refereeing almost twice as many games as the second busiest ref that month. Leticia switched between center referee and assistant referee for all age groups from U9 to U18. Her commitment to the club is clear with her willingness to step in and ref any chance she gets. Her calm demeanor with coaches and players has also helped keep the games she has been the referee for with the focus on the kids playing.
