Coaches and Ref of the Month – August 2014

photo 5Head Coach of the Month: Ryan Schori
Coach Ryan has transformed the U9 Boys Solar team from a group of crazy 8-year-old boys into a group of crazy 8-year-old boys who love the game of soccer and who are making giant strides in their individual and team development. Ryan brings a special blend of energy, passion and knowledge to practices and games that gets the kids excited about learning.  Ryan has a special way of connecting with his players that allows them to develop personally in a way that improves their confidence, work ethic, and ability to commit to teamwork.

Assistant Coach of the Month: Elena Wasserman
Elena has made a successful transition from player to coach at Eclipse. In her third year as an assistant coach for the club, Elena has really found her coaching voice this year and has been flexible in helping players and teams throughout the club. While her main focus is on helping shape our youngest players at our Future Eclipse program, she has also spent time helping almost every Eclipse girls team throughout the last few years. Elena will be finishing up her coaching season with Eclipse in a few weeks when she heads off to college at Cal Poly.

Coach in Training of the Month: Amanda Moellering
In her first year as a Coach in Training with Eclipse, Amanda has been one of the most confident and vocal coaches in our CIT group this year. Amanda has spent time with a variety of Eclipse teams, but she has made her biggest impact on the Future Eclipse program, finding the correct balance of fun, hard work, and discipline to teach the kids.

Referee of the Month: Norma Sanchez
When Norma isn’t busy coaching the U11 Lunar Girls team, you can almost always find her in the middle of the field in her yellow jersey. Not only is Norma one of our most skilled and experienced referees, she also spent more time as a referee than anyone else in August.
