Summer Ends With Tournament Fun

As school starts back up, Eclipse teams had one final weekend of fun by competing in tournaments around the Bay Area. Eclipse teams competed at Soccer by the Bay, the Tiburon Fall Kickoff, and the San Ramon Invitational this weekend. Some Eclipse teams took on the challenge of playing in gold and silver flights for the first time at Soccer by the Bay, which brought on a tough challenge of playing some very strong opponents. Eclipse teams held their own, played well and found some success – even against gold competition. In Tiburon, the U10 Girls, U13 Lunar Boys, and U13 Lunar Girls all had undefeated weekends. This was the second consecutive year the U13 Lunar Boys went without losing in Tiburon. The U13 Lunar Girls avenged a heartbreaking PK shootout loss in last year’s Tiburon final to claim the title for the second time in three years. One of the highlights of the weekend was the U13 Solar Boys finishing second in San Ramon. The team had not won a game at a tournament prior to this weekend, but the boys have committed to their development over the years, getting better and better each time they stepped on the field. They played beautiful soccer this weekend, moving the ball around the field from teammate to teammate all weekend, which resulted in some true “team goals.” All Eclipse teams played tough this weekend and continue to grow together, as they work toward their developmental goals. We’re all looking forward to a great fall season!
