Coaches and Ref of the Month – July 2014

Kevin ClarkHead Coach of the Month: Kevin Clark
Coach Kevin has come into the Eclipse program this year, bringing passion and a focus on technical development to the U13 Lunar Boys and U14 Boys teams. In addition to coaching for Eclipse, Kevin also coaches a high school team. Kevin is able to provide the boys with the type of expectations and training that will prepare them for the high school level. Kevin’s focus on technical passing and team dynamic movement off of the ball has his boys playing a beautiful brand of soccer that led to some great team goals at the Sonoma tournament.

Assistant Coach of the Month: Jason Hofmann
Jason earns his second assistant coach of the month honor during his time as a coach with Eclipse. This season, Jason is working as an assistant coach under Assistant Director Luis Pinto with the U18 girls team. In the past, Jason has been an assistant coach with younger Eclipse teams, so while the jump to an older group may have shocked him initially, he has become an integral part of the team’s practice sessions. In addition to coaching for Eclipse, Jason has been an Eclipse player the past three years and recently graduated from Campolindo.

Coach in Training of the Month: Grady Eglin
While some young coaches in training come into the program nervous, Grady came in confident and immediately provided younger Eclipse players with technical knowledge and positive support. He has spent most of his time coaching with the U13 Solar Boys team and has created a strong connection with those boys.

Referee of the Month: Rodrigo Diaz-Valdes
Rodrigo has been one of the pillars of our referee program so far this summer with his willingness to be the center referee or assistant referee for any age group. While many of us get hot and tired after watching or playing one game, Rodrigo will often do 4 or 5 games back to back all day to support the club.
