Eclipse Goes 6v6 in Sonoma

After many Eclipse players kicked off the tournament season at our home 3v3 tournament in June, they moved into 6v6 play in Sonoma for their July tournament. Eclipse entered more than 25 teams in the Sonoma 6v6 tournament with at least one team in every age bracket. The tournament is a one-day event where teams play between four and six 30-minute games. Games are on a small field with full-sized goals, so play is quick, shots are coming from everywhere, and fun is to be had by all. The tournament gives Eclipse teams a chance to compete in more small-sided play, which emphasizes more touches on the ball for each individual player and goes in line with the club’s technical focus in the early summer training sessions. Teams will move into full-sided tournament play in August, as coaches begin working more on the tactical side of the game with their teams.
